‘Horsey’ is an attachable bicycle ornament/accessory which makes one’s bicycle look horsey! The ‘horsey’ package includes wooden ornaments (horsey shape body), metal parts, and screws. The manual is very simple so that anyone can easily arrange it according to one’s needs. Through this ‘horsey’ project I wanted to give a special look to bicycles so that people would care about cycling not only as transportation but also as a lovely pet.’ - Ignant

I have this ongoing need/urge/desire to get myself a bicycle to call my own. One with a basket to carry my handbag and french baguette.

I’m kidding about the french baguette… OK, not really.

When I came across Creme Cycles and saw the sleek images (which, by the way, made it look ridiculously sophisicated),  I knew it was ‘the one’.

Creme Cycles is a new European company who believe in the beauty of bicycles. Their products are designed to include brake and gear systems which is a relief. Not like the ones you see lots of trendy hipsters riding around these days. Call me sensible and uncool, but I’d like to have control of my brakes as opposed to peddling backwards to stop.

The philosophy behind these bikes is to keep everything minimalistic and simple. Creme’s goal is to manufacture modern bicycles that are both practical and beautiful. Creme’s designs have the simple lines usually seen on retro bicycles, but they also include modern elements like internal gear systems and an iPod charger powered by a dynamo in the front hub. Their sturdy steel frames are powder-coated to maintain shine, and they claim that the cycles don’t rattle when launched from curbs and over bumps.

Here is Creme Cycles story:
“One day, after stumbling across a bunch of beautiful old bike parts in a friends attic and realizing just how little care and attention to detail can be found in today’s city bikes, we decided that it was time to make our dream a reality.

We wanted our bikes to be simple and accessible, but at the same time they had to be a form of art, a tribute to the love for materials, details and craftsmanship. And today, when we see the finished product, we hope that you will see these values in our bikes the same way as we do. To us they are just like Italian espresso - simple, popular, but when each one is made with love and care, it becomes a small work of art.”

I’m sold! Now I just need to wait until the online store officially opens… taps feet impatiently…
