Interesting art composition using different fabrics.
Phil Jones has a great collection of works going on. Lots of fun illustrations and t-shirt designs. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Midnite Wallhanging
Out of all my personal design work, this one is my favourite. I screenprinted this back at University of California, Davis using a registered screen printing process. What that means is that each colour was printed one at a time. But in order to do that you need to cut separate stencils for each colour and ensure that with every new colour print, they line up.
Each shape/ letter/ block was cut by hand. Yup, you heard me - hand-cut in-di-vid-u-al-ly! I was pretty hardcore. The canvas was 1 metre high too! My classmates at the time called me the crazy girl who cut stencils all night - which was true. Some could say I was a little ambitious but to honest I really did not think it through! I did not anticipate THAT much work was involved! And once I got started, I didn’t want to stop.
In the end, the results was worth it though because it truly holds a deep sentimental value.
‘Midnite’ is a tribute to my dear friends back at Davis whom I shared many midnights with discussing random topics, sharing stories and always having a good laugh. It’s ‘midnite’ because we like it that way and it encompasses us as a group.
Everytime I see this print, I am reminded of those fun, carefree times. Life seemed so much simpler back then. These special people were like family. Years have past now since my year in the States. Eventuallly we move on, we set off on different journeys, we walk down different paths, we get caught up in our own life - a flurry of other priorities such as work, study, travel, relationships but I will always cherish memories of our time together fondly and always close to my heart. This is dedicated to you Lauranne, Jonathan and April - the ‘Midnite’ crew… I miss you guys.
